J.R. Thompson Company has an outstanding opportunity for a senior Web developer/designer to join our digital services team. We offer a career advancement growth opportunity for a hands-on developer to manage and execute the work. Being an automotive agency, the ideal candidate is likely to be someone who has an interest in cars. You will have broad responsibilities for overall website management, including planning, site mapping, design, execution, maintenance and updates. You are versatile, well organized and have in-depth experience creating, building and maintaining dynamic websites. We seek a developer who is well-versed in Web technology and is familiar with social media and mobile trends. We are a company that rewards people who have high integrity and a strong work ethic. This is a full-time position but could be a part-time, contract, project-based or freelance opportunity as well.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with client service team members to help define objectives
- Conceptualize, plan, architect and map websites
- Work both independently as well as with account people, graphic artists and content writers to design and create websites
- Interface with programmers and back-end databases
- Manage overall Web development projects
- Actively participate in client service meetings
- Stays on top of new and emerging Web trends and technologies
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 3 years experience working in Web development
- Deep understanding of websites, design and functionality
- Thorough knowledge of XHTML, CSS and Javascript
- Experience with JQuery, PHP and MVC-based frameworks
- Working knowledge of content management systems
- Familiar with SQL databases such as MySQL
- Experience with Photoshop
- Well organized and highly attentive to detail
- Passionate about your work
- Articulate in presenting and selling your ideas
- Personable and enjoys working with people
- College educated and/or certification in Web/interactive field
